
Line of Research: Socio-technological systems
Rafael Soares Gonçalves holds a law degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2001), a master’s degree in Dynamiques Comparées Des Sociétés En Developpement – Université de Paris VII – Universite Denis Diderot (2003) and a doctorate in Histoire et civilizations – Université de Paris VII – Universite Denis Diderot (2007) and postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory of Anthropology of Writing at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales – EHESS (2008). He is an associate professor at the Department of Social Work at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. Young Scientist of Our State (2012-2021) and Scientist of Our State by FAPERJ since 2021 and CNPQ productivity fellow (PQ 2-CA Psychology/Social Service) since 2015. Coordinates the Laboratory of Urban and Socio-environmental Studies (LEUS) and he is the scientific editor of the journal O Social em Questão (A2 assessment in Social Work by CAPES). From an interdisciplinary perspective, his research focuses mainly on the field of Urban History and Sociology.
