Paulo has a Master’s in Business Administration and a degree in Administration with a specialization in Information Systems, both from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. He is a professor of the Professional Master’s Degree in Sustainability Science at the Department of Geography and Environment at PUC Rio, linked to the Center for Science in Conservation and Sustainability of Rio (CSRio). He also taught in the Professional Master’s in Management for Competitiveness with an emphasis on Sustainability, in the Master in Sustainability Management and in the PEC – Continuing Education Program of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV-EAESP); as well as in the Professional Master’s Degree in Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Development at the Superior School of Environmental Conservation and Sustainability (ESCAS), in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses of the Department of Administration at PUC-Rio and in the MBA in Business Management at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV-RJ), having several of his academic works, in the areas of Sustainability, Education and Business, published in Brazil and abroad.

For fifteen years he worked as an executive in the areas of organizational development and people management, and as a business management consultant and facilitator in management development programs with private and public companies in several Brazilian states. He is technical director of the International Institute for Sustainability (IIS), founding associate of Instituto Fronteiras do Desenvolvimento and founding partner of Ekobé, one of the first Brazilian consultancies specialized in corporate sustainability, where he has contributed to the integration of principles and practices of sustainable development in strategy of several national and multinational organizations, including Natura, Banco Real/Santander, Alcoa, Arcelor Mittal, Banco Itaú, Nokia and Instituto Ethos, as well as in the value chain of different sectors. He was deputy coordinator of the Center for Sustainability Studies (FGVces) at the São Paulo Business Administration School of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV EAESP), where he led projects in the areas of sustainability strategy and management, stakeholder engagement, sustainable value chains , innovation and entrepreneurship, internationalization of companies, among others.
