Line of Research: Socioecological systems

Bachelor in Biological Sciences (2009) and Master in Ecosystem Bioengineering (2012) from the Federal University of São João del Rei. PhD in Ecology from UFMG (2017). From graduation to doctorate, he dedicated himself to themes related to taxonomy, distribution, ecology and secondary production of benthic macroinvertebrates, decomposition of leaf debris and flow of energy and matter in rivers. In the postdoctoral period (UFRJ Limnology Laboratory, since 2019), interests expanded to cover themes related to ecological restoration and the carbon cycle in an Amazonian area, biodiversity and business, sustainability and regenerative futures (Colégio Brasileiro de Altos Estudos da UFRJ, since 2022). He is also dedicated to extension activities, coordinating the content component of the Young Climate Leaders course (UFRJ Science and Culture Forum, since 2022), and teaching, regularly teaching classes in disciplines of the UFRJ Department of Ecology (since 2019 ). It also works in consulting work both related to the impact of the mining sector (on topics such as restoration and biodiversity offset, since 2019), and linked to the cultural sector (in the case of the exhibition Fruturos – Tempos Amazônicos, at the Museum of Tomorrow, 2021-2022). Today, her main interests are sustainability science, futures studies, and ecological restoration.
