Line of Research: Socioecological Systems

Rogério Ribeiro de Oliveira graduated in Social Communication at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, master’s and doctorate in Geography at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and postdoctoral at the Alpen-Adria University, Austria (2007). He is currently an associate professor at the Department of Geography at PUC-Rio and a member of the faculty of the Graduate Programs in Geography at PUC-Rio and Urban and Environmental Engineering at PUC-Rio/University of Braunschweig and a collaborator of the Graduate Program Degree in Environmental and Forestry Sciences from UFRRJ. He is currently carrying out a postdoctoral internship at the Postgraduate Program in Archeology at the National Museum (UFRJ). His main interest is the study of interactions between society and nature over time. His research combines historical ecology, landscape ecology and environmental history approaches.
